Keeping on the watches aspect of the title of this song, we have also designed to have a line of watches with the words ‘TIME’ in the faces (one letter in each face). These watches would also be different styles to show different ideas and feelings the concept of time, the main character in the video’s time and how we spend our own time; so different ideas and peoples time spent.
Another idea to show the effects of time is an ice-lolly as we would take a picture of it gradually melting from the heat. This shows how heat creates a different situation. This reflects the story in the video as well because in the heat of the moment the different characters do different things and create different situations, the relationship between the male and female couple is declining or ‘melting’ away like an ice-lolly so the metaphor of the ice-lolly and the situations in the story are similar and so work together.
The third idea was a sand timer. This gives a new meaning as if we are waiting for something and counting down rather than a normal watch is consistent and reliable but a sand timer isn’t and we can’t tell how much or how fast the sand is going to fall, just like the relationship in the story. The title of the song and artist would be falling with the sand to show everyone’s the same and waiting for something to happen, good or bad.
Finally, the famous artist Salvador Dali painted a picture f clocks melting and so we thought it would be good to incorporate cultural and history into our CD cover or Poster. We would use the painting but have us digitally imposed on it using Photoshop. This would give a whole different slant on the story and the way we look at things as it’s an unusual painting anyway and it is famous so we would get recognized more and quicker than some other artists. We would be posing as if we were in the picture; whether we are cropping the photo or not it will look as though we are supposed to be there and are interacting with the subjects in the painting and our audience, they will also be culturally informed and educated at the same time. The poster for ‘Bruce Almighty’ the film uses the famous painting of Sistine Chapel, also Lady GaGa uses references to the bible in her song ‘Judas’ so we can do the same and use history and art in our advertisement.
