new locations

As we have changed the story line we have new locations. Some of the new footage was filmed in town when the male is walking. One of these places was a car park where you could see the Hilton hotel; this created a sense of place and how alone he felt. Near this location there was a high set of stairs where we placed the camera looking down on it for a high shot.

At the last moment of the video we have a train going past to symbolize the silence now and as if he is travelling somewhere else in his life. The fact that the train is in the same location as some of the other shots shows it’s all close and links to each other also make the viewer think of the locations.

One an establishing shot we have the ‘Big Wheel’ to show it is in Manchester where we are filming; this is recognized by most people and so like the Hilton gives the whole video a sense of place.

On some of the locations we used places with lights, as it’s close to Christmas there were plenty of nice ones, this creates a romantic and close feel between the couple and the audience.

Other locations were near the Big Wheel where the ‘argument’ took place. We chose this place because it was easy to get good angles as it was on steps and so elevated from the ground. Also it was public so could be seen as embarrassing for the couple when arguing in a busy place.

The last scene was filmed in a park subway where it was quiet so It didn’t matter how loud they shouted or what actions and accidents happened no one would have heard.
